Trudy A. Nearn
Trudy Nearn is the firm's founding attorney. She is also a specialist in estate planning, trust and probate law as certified by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization. In addition to her law degree from the University of California Hastings College of Law, Trudy has earned a Master of Laws in Taxation degree from Golden Gate University.
Trudy and Generations were showcased in a feature Sacramento Business Journal article called, "Estate Fate" She was quoted extensively in Comstock's magazine in the article "Death and Taxes," "The Wizards of Cause," "Life and Taxes," and "Estating the Obvious." She has appeared regularly in the Sacramento Bee in their “Ask the Expert” feature column. Trudy has also been quoted as a respected estate planning expert in news publications such as Money magazine and ABC World News Tonight.
Trudy is a member of the Sacramento Estate Planning Council, a committee member on the Eskaton Planned Giving Committee, the chair for the Professional Advisory Committee for the Jewish Community Foundation of the West, and an oversight committee member for the Sutter Medical Center Foundation/Heritage Advisors. She is listed as a Northern California Super Lawyer® and as a Northern California Female Super Lawyer®.
Trudy is married, enjoys golf and is an avid reader.
With an MBA from UC Berkeley, Scott joined the tax department of a Big-8 accounting firm in San Francisco before turning to the practice of law. He shared his depth of knowledge in business and real estate matters during eight years of teaching business law at the University of Redlands.
Scott is a Certified Specialist in Estate Planning, Probate and Trust Law, designated by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization. He has lectured on the topic of trust administration to various groups, including the Continuing Education of the Bar and the Southern California Tax and Estate Planning Forum.
Before relocating to the North Bay, Scott was a senior partner in a firm in Redlands, California, for fourteen years. After an amicable separation from Northern California law firm Gaw, VanMale, where Scott was an equity shareholder, served as managing shareholder and practice group leader, Scott started his own firm, Reynolds Law LLP, and with the recent aquisition of the Generations law firm Scott can tailor a his practice to the unique needs of his clients throughout Solano, Yolo, San Bernardino and Riverside counties.
Scott has been selected as a Northern California Super Lawyer each year since 2005. His practice focuses on business, corporate, succession planning, tax, estate planning, and trust administration.
